Aloha KS Alumni Class Reps…

The 2007-2008 school year has started and some very interesting and exciting events will be taking place for our KS Alumni. We will discuss these and more at our SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13. 2007 KS ALUMNI CLASS REPS RETREAT, 8 A.M. – 12 NOON, KS PAUAHI ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, OPEN LANAI, GROUND LEVEL. The agenda will include, in part, the following:

• Distribution of the first printing of the KS Alumni “Yellow Pages” of Businesses Directory
• Displays, Demonstrations and Informational Booths highlighting some of the vendors in the yellow pages directory
• KSAA O`ahu Region Membership Drive
• 1st Annual All Kamehameha Alumni Reunion in Las Vegas, October of 2008; hosted by KSAA Inter-mountain Region…to include a golf tournament, lu`au with live entertainment and a singing contest
• Kamehameha’s Outreach Programs – What are They, and How Do They Benefit our children, grandchildren, families and other Hawaiians
• Saving for Retirement and the Future – Educating Hawaiians to Make Wise Investment Choices, Protecting ourselves against financial fraud. etc.
• Preview of a New Face for Alumni Week 2008
• KS Alumni Classes Community Service Project for 2008: Relay for Life
• Keeping Up Class Communication through the PAR Website – are our class pages up and running, current and inviting?
• Veteran’s Day Student Body Recognition Assembly of Alumni – Nov. 9
• Learning words to 2nd verse of Sons of Hawaii
• Calendar of significant school events: Founder’s Day, Song Contest, etc.

We look forward to seeing all of you on the 13th of October. If you cannot attend, you need to send someone to represent your class and report back to you what transpired during the meeting. RSVPs may be called in to 842-8680 or e-mailed to me at gejohans@ksbe.edu. Keep in mind, that as class reps, we are the link to our classes; if we don’t attend the meetings (only 2 a year) and communicate with them what is happening, we are not fulfilling our kuleana and classes are left in the dark. If you feel they are others in the class who might benefit by attending our meetings, they are welcomed – we just need to know their names when the RSVPs are sent in. RSVP deadline is September 30, 2007.
